Hyejin (Cherry) Shin
I was born in Seoul, South Korea, in 2000 as a twin. Influenced by my father and his older brother, both majoring in design and art, I wanted to become a designer from an early age. This led me to attend a design high school, and it made me spend my school years moving across different parts of Seoul and fully embracing the city.After graduating, I returned to my home but soon decided to leave my lovely hometown, Seoul, to explore even more of the world. I decided to go to New York and started my studies at the School of Visual Arts (SVA), living first in Manhattan and later in Jersey City. New York became my second home, and, honestly, I'm being a Jersey Girl.
As I settled into life in NYC, I found myself drawn to new experiences not only do design practice. I traveled alone across the U.S. and Europe, expanding my perspective. Now, I consider Seoul,New York and London are all my homes, each city shaping me in different ways.
